Teachability. “The virtue of teachability is seperate to contingent and circumstantial emotion.”
“Personal character development rests in the hands of others.”
Which statement is true?
In complementing the doctor’s recent blog, the only other question I wish to pose in relation to understanding this further is, is the recieved feeling of love our decision or anothers? Are we reliant on a feeling only another can give in order to access the secret to our success?
Man can only harness the true power of the word ‘reliance’ through a revelation of something truely reliable. And through that comes peace in certainty and certainty to it’s greatest potential. The only certainty of love comes from above, all other forms vary based on contingent and circumstantial factors. Therefore, search until you bleed that revelation, because if teachability is the key to success and certainty of unconditional love is the gateway, begin yesterday the search for true reliability. Simply knowing this is far opposed to adopting it as your character, your identity.
Musing further, If we link the secret of teachability, which in fact is the secret to success, to a temporary feeling, we create a problem in the sense that we become organisers of emotions instead of men and women of unshakeable principal.
Men and women that no matter the circumstance, no matter the obstacle, no matter how we feel, will stand steadfast by the principal of teachability forsaking all else, with a deep rooted understanding that the right principal is more powerful than an emotional or feeling based motivation.
Therefore it is our choice to either be slaves to our human nature, governed by how we feel, allowing motivation to rest in the hands of others, or conversely decide our conviction regarding our need for teachability with fear and trembling before God. Teachability is a decision, your decision. Selah.
